Reporters recently learned that the reconstruction and expansion projects of Hami Airport and Korla Airport are scheduled to start at the beginning of the month. During this period, both airports will not suspend operations for construction, and aircraft will take off and land normally. However, some stopping routes at Hami Airport will change. The Hami Airport reconstruction and expansion project consists of two major projects: communication and navigation and field roads. After the completion of the project, it can meet the annual passenger throughput of 10,000 people, the annual cargo and mail throughput of tons, and the annual civil aviation aircraft takeoffs and landings.
The reconstruction and expansion of Korla Airport will include a new terminal building with an area of 10,000 square meters, an aircraft stand, a corridor bridge, a cargo warehouse with an area of square meters, an air traffic control building and a tower with an area of square meters. Currently, passengers have to pass through the apron to board or disembark the plane. After the corridor bridge is built, passengers can board the plane directly from the isolation area through the corridor bridge.
